Common causes
- Typo when entering the key
- Using an encryption key from a different network
- The key was changed by the network owner
- Copy/paste included extra spaces
How to fix
- Double-check the encryption key for typos
- Keys are case-sensitive — make sure caps lock is off
- If you copied the key, try typing it manually
- Contact the network owner to confirm you have the correct key
Security note
Your encryption key never leaves your device. Verification happens locally, so even Council can't see your keys.
